What the Authors are Reading – Part 1

It was an infamous moment for the McCain-Palin ticket when Sarah Palin was asked the straightforward question by Katy Couric of what she reads.  To Mrs. Palin it didn’t seem like a very pertinent question, what with the threat of Russia on the horizon – literally the horizon since you can see it from her house – and important topics like federally funded abstinence only education on the docket.  But, what Mrs. Palin probably didn’t realize is that you don’t get to know someone by listening to them recite talking points or telling warm fuzzy stories about small-town America. In fact sometimes you can’t get to know someone by talking to them at all, man I hate those people who talk all the time but never say anything.

So, in an effort to help all of you get to know the El Iluminador authors a little better, we will be answering the question Mrs. Palin was hesitant to answer – what are you reading?  Sometimes knowing where an individual gets his influences from helps to understand that person better than a conversation can.
