Does this make me weird?

Starry Starry Night

I have had this article brewing for a while now. I’m sure that there are plenty more people in the world that asks questions like this in their lives.

Every man questions who he is as a person; but this is often typical of a midlife crisis. I don’t think many men in college ask this question.  Sure, they think of what they want to do for the rest of their life pertaining to their future career, but not necessarily who they are as a person.

Does this make me weird? …It depends who looks at it.

I would rather sit and be quiet and learn a little bit, instead of opening my mouth and trying to force my opinion and knowledge on somebody else.

I never really thought too much about it. Should I be one of those guys that just wanna screw and nothing else?  Nah, that’s not me.  Sure I look like a party animal who does that sort of thing, but it doesn’t mean I am- I genuinely have to like the girl.  Maybe I shouldn’t worry about it and go through college care-free, but when have I ever been that?  I personally think every woman deserves a man that makes her feel special and, if not, she shouldn’t be dating that guy.  I have seen too many girls get hurt because of the a**($)* that they are with.

Does this make me weird? …It depends who looks at it.

My place in life has allowed me to see a lot of things.  Being mulatto ( half-black, half-white) with one parent from a city and the other being a farm-girl, I have had the opportunity to see a lot of different viewpoints. The one thing I have striven for is to learn as much as I can so that I can apply it to life situations. Learning without application is worthless: without application there is no benefit to humanity. I would rather sit and be quiet and learn a little bit, instead of opening my mouth and trying to force my opinion and knowledge on somebody else.

Does this make me weird? …It depends who looks at it.

A lot of people still make the mistake of thinking that since they went to college, they are educated and thus other people are wrong.

I still drive to grandma’s house and, before I go to sleep, I go outside and look at the stars. I don’t think the rest of the family realizes I do this. Anyway, I always think that you never can see the stars in the city; city folk hardly ever take time back from what they are doing to look up anyways. The stars light up the sky brilliantly and inspire us to light up others’ lives as well. I can look up at the stars for up to two hours at a time.

Does this make me weird? …It depends who looks at it.

The world doesn’t need someone to relate to. The world needs someone to inspire them. This is always done with the gifts given to us. Sometimes people are so ignorant that they don’t even realize the gifts that they have. I believe the cure for ignorance is education. A lot of people still make the mistake of thinking that since they went to college, they are educated and thus other people are wrong. A person gets educated whether they go to college or not. It just may not be the education that they want if they don’t go. Therefore maybe all opinions should be at least heard.

Does this make me weird? …It depends who looks at it.

The  fact of the matter is that this makes perfect sense to me while writing this, but anybody else who reads this may not be able to understand it. Potentially, I could be weird to everyone else because they don’t know where I am coming from. I don’t see many people thinking critically about things like this too much; so as I analyze myself, and I think that I may in fact be weird. That doesn’t mean that it is a bad thing, it just simply means I could be more alone than I think.

About Red Tail

Red Tail is the child of an African-American who grew up in a major city and a Caucasian woman who grew up on a farm.
